Little Bears From Bangkok - Vic Morrow
Greetings my Friends –
Welcome to the October 2010 AotM, which of course climaxes with the most terrifying of all holidays, Halloween. Needless to say, we have picked a band for this month that is very scary – Little Bears From Bangkok. We all know bears are scary, and how little could they be?
Holiday festiveness aside, you are about to enjoy some fine early 80’s Seattle arty rock stuff. I generally consider LBFB to be Beakers spawn and if you don’t know The Beakers, go right to K Records and buy their CD – I did! The album you are probably listening to this very minute, was assembled posthumously, as you can read in the extensive notes below written by Jim Anderson. I did not see these guys back when more than once or twice, but as always, I faithfully bought their cassette at Cellophane Square (this was in my buy all local releases period) and thought it mighty fine. I still have it.
I actually started pursuing this a couple years ago, so I am pretty thrilled to get it out to you all. I did some tweaking on the tunes to make them a little more sonically pleasing for your listening pleasure, but the purity remains. If you are wishing you owned this drop me a note and I will forward it to Jim – no guarantees.
Next month we will be re-releasing The Hitmen – Smashface in all its original glory and then some – it will indeed be your November AotM!
